Carp
The UEA Broad contains a decent head of common and mirror carp, ranging from mid-doubles to 40lb plus. There are plenty of twenties, a dozen known thirties, and fish that regularly go over forty. The carp have plenty of character, with some lovely old mirrors, linears, fully-scaled, commons, and the odd ghost koi.

During the 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2022/23 seasons, we stocked a total of sixty four quality C4 (10-12lb) mirror carp from VS Fisheries. During the 2023/24 season, we stocked a further eleven C4 mirror carp from Priory Fishery. In 2025 we will stock C4 fish from AJS fisheries https://www.ajsfisheries.com/, predominantly commons. These introduced fish will be the big fish of the future, and many have already been caught at over 30lb.

Pike
Pike range from jacks to upper-doubles and average around 10lb. There are 20’s, but they are elusive. The ‘dead baiting’ Pike season runs from 31st October to 31st March.

Bream
The UEA Broad contains a decent head of bream and bags up to 50lb are possible.
Tench
Tench have been caught up to 8lb and we stocked a further hundred during the 2023/24 season.
Roach and Rudd
The UEA Broad also contains plenty of silverfish, including a population of lovely golden rudd.
Perch
Perch can be caught on both bait and lures.
